Covid-19 Relief
Ramakrishna Math, Mekhliganj, has distributed 4100 kg rice, 1600 kg flour, 626 kg dal, 3018 kg potatoes, 107 kg soybeans, 626 kg cooking oil, 120 kg turmeric powder and 1252 packet of biscuits among 1252 families in Cooch Behar district.

Our Story
Ramakrishna Math, Mekhliganj is a branch centre of Ramakrishna Math, Belur Math. It is situated in a remote place near Bangladesh border and is surrounded by small villages with scenic beauty. This Ashrama was started way back in 1957, in a very humble way from a thatched room in a low land by a disciple of Swami Virajanandaji Maharaj, who later took sannyasa from outside of our order. The ashrama was handed over to Belur Math in the year 2006, which was then a sub-centre of our Cooch Behar centre. Later in 2015 the Mekhliganj centre was made a branch centre of Belur Math.
Our Activities
Major activities include Daily Worship, Spiritual practices, Religious preaching, General and technical education with an ethical and spiritual background, Medical services, Famine and distress relief work, Rural upliftment, Work for the labouring masses for their improvement and other Cultural Activities.

Owing to their poverty the local population is unable to contribute financially to the cause of the Math, hence the Mekhliganj Math mostly depends on the generous donations of the devotees and well wishers residing outside Mekhliganj. The financial condition of the Math has deteriorated further due to the COVID19 induced economic stress as donations have dried up....

Beautiful Universal Temple
Inspired by the lofty ideals of Sri Ramakrishna, the Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda, the new temple at Mekliganj was inaugurated in the year of 2015. Daily puja is performed to Sri Ramakrishna at this universal temple.
Prayer and Meditation Hall
MOTTO: The motto of the organizations is ATMANO MOKSHARTHAM JAGAD HITAYA CHA, “For one’s own salvation and for the welfare of the world”. It was formulated by Swami Vivekananda.
